Mission
Kia Motors America, Inc. (KMA) is a dynamic, innovative, entrepreneurial distributor
of high-quality automotive products from Kia Motors Corporation and is totally
committed to providing American consumers with the highest levels of value,
service, and customer satisfaction in the U.S. automotive industry.
Meaning of "Kia": The word is of Chinese origin and combines two
syllables. The first, "Ki" means to spring up/prosper/expand/arise.
The second, "A," stands for Asia. Hence the two syllable word Kia
means to spring up/prosper/expand/arise from Asia.
Values
How KMA accomplishes its mission is as important as the mission itself. Fundamental
to KMA's success are these Basic Values:
- People: KMA's employees are the source of its strength. They provide
the intelligence, drive, enthusiasm, and support for KMA's mission, and they
determine the Company's performance and reputation. Involvement, teamwork,
honesty, respect, and integrity are KMA's core human values.
- Products: In accord with the Company's mission, KMA's products and
service should raise the standards for quality and value in the U.S. automotive
market. We will be known by what we deliver.
- Profits: Profits are the ultimate measure of KMA's effectiveness
and efficiency in providing American consumers with the best products and
service for their automotive needs. Profits are required for KMA to survive
and grow.
Guiding Principles
The guiding Principles underlying KMA's Basic Values are:
- Quality comes first: To achieve its mission, KMA must make the quality
of its products and service its number one prority. There is no substitute
for quality.
- We are on the customer's side: All of KMA's efforts must be focused
on meeting and exceeding the needs and expectations of its customers and to
provide better products and services than the competition.
- Dealers and suppliers are our partners: KMA can be successful only
to the degree its dealers and suppliers are successful.
- Continuous improvement is essential to our success: KMA must strive
for excellence in everything it does. And it can always get better. "Good
enough" isn't.
- Employee involvement and empowerment is our way of life: KMA is a
team of very talented, dedicated individuals. To bring out the best in each
other and ourselves, we must treat each other with confidence, respect, and
consideration.
- Integrity is never compromised: The conduct of KMA's activities must
always be pursued in a manner that is ethical, honest, and socially responsible.
